The ISU Police Bike Patrol Unit was reorganized in the spring of 1997. We purchased 7 new Cannondale M-900 bikes and equipped the officers to ride in all but the most extreme weather.
Bike officers are able to respond to certain calls faster and easier than car officers. Bike officers perform many duties. They take calls in their assigned areas, enforce traffic laws, bicycle regulations, crime prevention, bike safety/rodeos and Community Oriented Policing.
