Department of Public Safety


Crime prevention programs are available upon request to students and staff throughout the year. Iowa State police officers are available to meet with your group. Presentations can be tailored to any need.

PROGRAMS

  • ISU Police: An overview of departmental services and discussion of community policing methods on campus.
  • Alcohol: Educational programming on alcohol laws and enforcement.
  • Sexual Assault: Discussion of sexual assault on the ISU campus. The program focuses on the dynamics of sexual assault and avoidance practices.
  • Workplace Safety: Instruction on developing a safety plan for your office.
  • Drugs: Programming that offers an in dept look at drug trends. The presentation includes examples of illegal drugs commonly found in Iowa.
  • Travel Safety: We will provide a facilitator to groups wanting to work through crime prevention ideas for both domestic and international travel .
  • Theft Prevention: Theft prevention practices and technology to suit the needs of the person or group requesting the program.
  • Identity Theft Prevention: Program that addresses an increasingly problematic criminal activity, including how to respond to being victimized.
  • Bicycle Safety: Child-oriented, fun program to stress traffic and bicycle safety.

  • Child Safety Seat Checks: Parents may bring their vehicles to ISU Police for evaluation by a trained safety seat technician. Please call Steve Hasstedt at 294-4428 for an appointment.
