Safety

College: Great friends, great times, and great results. Naturally you will try some new things here and there. So how do you take a risk without being too risky? Just like you've heard from your parents a thousand times, it's important to be careful.

So here it goes: the low-down on safety!
We know this is nothing new, but we'll tell you again anyway.

Cars
Wear your seat belt - Seriously, buckle up.
Watch your speed.
If the light is red - STOP!
Watch for people in the crosswalks.
Use crosswalks when you are on foot.

Partying
Off-campus parties are usually part of the social scene. They can be a great time if you remember a few things:

Avoid drinking at parties where you don't know people.
There are enough potential problems with being intoxicated, but not knowing the people around you will only increase your risk. Grab a friend, it's twice the fun.

Be a drink snob.
Only drink what you bring or what you opened. We've all heard the "don't leave your drink unattended" rule. That's because it's solid advice. Leaving your drink alone can leave you open to all sorts of problems.

Moonlight Express
This bus route runs after their normal hours on the weekends from 10:30 pm - 3:00 am in campustown, downtown, and West Ames. This service provides a safe way to get home after a night out with friends.
