Drive-Ride is a project focusing
on safe traveling.

On campuses across Iowa, students are driving, riding the bus, riding with friends and walking to each of their daily activities. Drive-Ride is about being alert, being aware of distractions, and getting to your final destination safely.

Tunnel Vision

Tunnel vision is defined as a loss of peripheral vision or having the ability to only see what is straight in front of an individual. When walking, driving, or riding, you should be aware of what is happening around you.

The banner above illustrates an instance of "tunnel vision." The driver is unaware how full their gas tank is and can only guess their current speed. Awareness begins by scanning the road, the cars around us, and the condition of our own car, so we arrive at our destination safely.
