Media Action Plan - Get InvolvedAcross the United States, thousands of teens are making a difference in their schools and communities. You may think, “Why should I get involved? I’m too busy.” We all have busy lives, and sometimes it seems like there’s not much one person can do. This is your chance to make a difference! You know the students in your school better than we do. Encourage your peers to make good choices by creating a media campaign that works for your school and community. Read through the following pages and take a look at the flyers and t-shirt designs that have been created for Iowa high schools. What message and media form would catch the attention of students in your school? The Get A Grip Drive-Ride Project would like to work with you on a fall 2009 media campaign that will impact traffic safety and alcohol use in your Iowa community. An action planning handout is available to assist you with the decision-making process. Contact Laurinda Smith (lasmith@iastate.edu or 515-294-8760) for an action plan guide and media project form to submit your plan to Get A Grip. Obtain the support of your school administration, fill out the media action plan project form (with signatures), attach message and design ideas (or choose from the available Get A Grip designs), and mail to Laurinda at the address below. The media project contact will be notified of project approval or Get A Grip staff will communicate with the working group to determine alternate messages and/or media forms. Plan at least 3-4 weeks from project approval to final product design, and 10-15 working days for production. |
